Bokononism and Zen 

Although there is no real or historical link between Bokononism and Zen (a school of Buddhism), I suspect you'll find many common threads between the two ideologies. 

The underlying notions of both philosophies centre themselves around the dilemnas of understanding and our human quest for it. Zen uses paradox and enigma in conveying that message, where Bokonon uses light hearted cynical critique, but the underlying themes are not so dissimilar.
